The Utah Excellence in GIS Award recognizes organizations that exemplify outstanding vision, leadership, and commitment with geographic information systems (GIS). This accolade is given to those who not only show remarkable innovation and hard work but also employ GIS technology with exceptional intelligence and effectiveness, setting a high standard in the field.
Recognizing excellence in GIS is an essential way to highlight innovative solutions and inspire others in the GIS community. If you know of an organization that has achieved excellence in GIS, it is important to bring recognition to their work by nominating them for this award. Nominations are open to UGIC members only.
Award recipients will receive well-deserved acknowledgment for their contributions, including a physical award and certificates for project team members. Winners may also have the opportunity to showcase their projects through presentations and participation in the UGIC Conference.
Application Dates
- Application deadline is March 31st.
- Awards recipients will be notified by April 15th.
Award Winner Details
- Winner will receive 1 physical award and a certificate for each member of the project team. Additional awards may be purchased by the winner if ordered by April 20th
- Winners will be requested to accept the award on stage at the UGIC Conference, take pictures and may be asked to say something about their award.
- Winners may be requested to give a presentation either in the plenary or a breakout session about their project. Showcasing the project in the map gallery is highly suggested.
- Winners will not receive complimentary registration but will not be charged for additional people attending the plenary session only.
- Organizations cannot win two years in a row.
UGIC will provide a press release for the organization.
