Do you want to be a Geospatial Rockstar? Now is your chance…submit your abstract for consideration here.

The Utah Geographic Information Council (UGIC) is now accepting abstract submissions for breakout presentations at the 2016 Annual Conference. We are proud of the excellent work being done by geospatial professionals in Utah and throughout the region. The Conference provides an excellent venue for you to tell your GIS story. It doesn’t have to be ground breaking work and you don’t have to be a polished presenter. Just come and Thankful show your peers what you’ve been working on in the friendly, laid-back environment that UGIC provides. The strength of our grassroots GIS organizations is found in users helping users as we all become better at what we do. Within Utah and beyond, we would like to hear from a variety of users: public and private sectors, tribal, federal, state, and local governments, educators, managers, innovators, beginners, students, experts, ArcPy ninjas, and old Avenue bosses. We want to hear from YOU!

Abstracts must be submitted for review by January 22nd, 2016. Presenters will be notified in February 2016 of acceptance.

Call for Maps & Posters

Here is your chance to be a Cartographic Rockstar! You do not need to register your map or poster to be a participant. Simply bring your map or poster to the venue and show off your Bob Ross skills!

UGIC would like to invite participation in the poster display and competition at the joint 2016 Annual Conference. Geospatial professionals have the privilege of displaying the results of their work in artistic cartographic productions. Let’s be real, most of us do what we do because we love maps. So let’s see them. We’d like to have a variety of maps and posters in our gallery. We will have a professional maps category and professional poster category as well as a special student category (represent your schools geospatial program and earn some bonus points on your resume). 2015 You know you have the skills, now it’s time to show them off. Prizes will be awarded for the professional maps and posters category, and cash prizes will be awarded in the student category.

If your map or poster is larger than 24”X36” then you must provide your own foam board or other mounting material.

Thanks!
