 Pay Range: $75,000 – $100,000 annually

 Unmatched Comp Time Policy: Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO.

As a GIS Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in our organization by overseeing and managing all aspects of GIS municipal projects. This role requires an understanding of geospatial technology, project management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. As the GIS Project Manager, you will be responsible for representing and promoting the full suite of Horrocks GIS products and services in the local government market as well as internally at Horrocks and with Trilon sister companies. You will also be responsible for planning, executing, and closing GIS projects while ensuring they meet their objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements.

Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties: 

  •  Find potential clients and maintain business relationships: Establish contracts in the local government industry, maintain business relationships, represent product line and service offerings. Some travel may be required
  •  Work with marketing team to respond to RFP’s: Collaborate with the marketing team to identify, prepare and respond to RFP’s and other relevant business opportunities
  •  Establish business to business channels: Educate and promote GIS products and services within Horrocks and Trilon sister companies
  •  Provide market feedback: Collaborate with the applications group to develop and/or align products and services to meet market demands
  •  Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans that include scope, goals, deliverables, and budget estimates. Define project tasks, resource requirements, and timelines
  • Client Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Address client concerns, provide updates, and manage expectations
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all GIS data, maps, and applications meet quality standards and adhere to best practices
  • Resource Management: Manage project resources, including personnel, software, and hardware, to ensure efficient project execution
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and take proactive measures to minimize project disruptions
  • Technical Expertise: Stay current with GIS technology trends and best practices, providing guidance and expertise to the project team
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and change orders
  • Project Evaluation: Conduct project evaluations and assessments to measure project performance and client satisfaction

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in GIS Project Management OR equivalent experience
  •  Demonstrated experience in GIS software and tools, including Ersi ArcGIS, and other relevant geospatial technologies
  •  Proven experience managing and leading teams on complex projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
