We will be meeting in the Doty Family Education Center which is building 6 at the IMC campus in Murray City. The campus have several buildings; each has a large number outside that will help you find number 6.  When you enter into Doty Education Center, there will be SLUG posters to guide you to the meeting room.
There is free parking but please use the southwest corner. TRAX Murray Central Station is located directly across the street from Intermountain Medical Center.  It is an easy walk from the station to the meeting place.

Presentations
Questar Gas

Scott Hansen, Questar Chief FERC Compliance Officer and Gen. Mgr Enterprise Risk Management, will discuss preparedness coordination of Questar Corporation with the State of Utah and other local lifeline service providers (power, water, sewer, transportation, communications, etc.).  During an emergency situation, key tools in understanding and addressing any situation are GIS diagrams and data. Mark Warner, Questar Chief DOT compliance Officer, will accompany Scott and discuss information that is accessed during emergencies using Questar’s GIS system.   This will be an interactive presentation with questions and answers.  Think about what you would like to know and ask about Questar’s emergency preparedness plan.

GIS Humor – Ray Montgomery

Cottonwood Heights – Kevin Sato
In collaboration with Amateur Radio Operators and a dedicated citizens group Cottonwood Heights has established an Emergency Response process.  Once activated, the Emergency Response process can provide the City EOC with information on the relative health of citizens in a short period of time.  In this presentation, Kevin will talk about how this process was developed and how it works.

UMETT (Utah Mapping Emergency Technical Team)

UMETT is a UGIC sub-commitee with the aim of enabling GIS professionals to effectively plan for and respond to emergency situations.  The group discusses and seeks to implement best practices for effective emergency management including developing procedures, participating in training, sharing data and maps, and collaborating with emergency managers and responders.  Learn more about the past and future efforts of this group.

Kate Smith and Talsan Shulzke will discuss GIS emergency management top ten tasks you can do that will help you be more effective in supporting an emergency response.
