ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Under general supervision and as a member of the Open Space GIS Team, this Analyst position is responsible for GIS services and operational support within the Jefferson County Open Space department.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Fulfill GIS Team projects, tasks and programs (operations) in support of our organizational needs discussed with Team and/or supervisor.
• Promote best GIS practices, utilizing best available industry resources and team generated; workflows, standards and infrastructure.
• Collaborate by attending GIS Team and other Team meetings; provide updates on GIS Team projects, task and/or programs.
• Drives development, analysis and maintenance of operational geospatial data (i.e. boundaries, trails, natural resources, asset management, etc.) in support of the data driven decision process.
• Implements and collaborates on the production of high quality GIS-generated cartographic mapping for visitor education, meetings, presentations, etc.
• Conducts, supports and trains others on best field collection needs for data development and maintenance.
• Partners with governmental and non-governmental agencies to obtain digital data for use in projects.
• Educates staff and GIS users of various skill levels on best internal GIS operational process, infrastructure and industry resources to insure quality.

Position Description: ​The Remote Sensing Mapping Specialist will work individually and as part of a team conducting
mapping projects using high and moderate resolution imagery primarily in the western US. The individual will assist in
developing and implementing image processing and GIS modeling techniques for developing terrestrial ecological units
and landscape-level vegetation applications. The mapping process consists of integrating information from vegetation,
soils, geology, terrain, and climate to develop and attribute terrestrial ecological units. Primary responsibilities include
using existing geospatial and nonspatial data for developing mapping concepts and applying concepts across large
landscapes of 2-10 million acres. This requires using multispectral imagery, automated pixel and object-orientated
image classification techniques, spatial modeling, statistical analysis, and data mining tools. The successful candidate
will have the opportunity to work on projects ranging from base-to-broad-scale projects. Occasional field work or travel

We are recruiting for a Senior GIS Analyst/Audio Visual Media Specialist to complete GIS projects and operate scanning/imaging and/or photographic, audio-visual or related equipment for the division.

Principal Duties
The Senior GIS Analyst/Audio Visual Media Specialist will:

  • use ESRI solutions to create, analyze, manage, integrate and share various spatial information and help non-GIS staff to use GIS applications
  • provide ad-hoc mapping, data and services for division business units
  • set up and operate audio/visual equipment and lighting controls for film and video productions
  • execute a process for discovering, framing, implementing and documenting the impact of effective information products
  • travel statewide to locate locations for GIS purposes and film productions
  • edit film and video productions

The Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position is someone who:

  • has an understanding of ESRI technology solutions and GIS best practices
  • has the ability to create, complete and maintain high level or complex GIS projects and supporting databases
  • has the ability and knowledge to operate scanning/imaging and/or photographic, audio-visual or related equipment
  • has the ability and knowledge to use sound recording equipment and videography equipment
