Job Description:

Environmental Planning Group, an industry leading environmental planning firm providing cutting edge environmental services to the power generation, oil and gas, mining, and construction industries is seeking a mid-level GIS Analyst to join our growing GIS team. Job responsibilities include:

  • Assist with production of high quality maps
  • Assist with GIS editing, geoprocessing, database creation, and documentation
  • Assist with GIS modelling and analyses
  • Assist with miscellaneous GIS and office tasks, as needed

Applicants will:

  • Have 2 or more years’ experience working as a GIS Analyst
  • Be proficient with ArcGIS 10.2, and SDE fundamentals
  • Practical working knowledge of ArcGIS collector, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS on-line
  • Knowledge of GPS data collection and processing through Trimble GPS, ArcPad, TerraSync and Pathfinder Office
  • An understanding of developing web maps using ArcGIS Server
  • Knowledge of cartographic fundamentals
  • Basic office skills – printing, plotting, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Be detail oriented while understanding overarching goals of project
  • Have a strong ability to multi-task and effectively manage time
  • Have a desire to learn and excel
  • Work productively in a team environment while also working effectively independently
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Be flexible with shifting priorities
  • Experience with a variety of project types
  • Experience with state and/or federal land management agencies preferred

 

Additional preferable skills:

  • Knowledge of basic ArcGIS server administration, Windows 2012, and SQL server 2012 management tasks such as creating maintenance plans, backup creation, and restores.
  • Knowledge of GIS Web adapter and web mapping fundamentals
  • Supervisory experience

 

Education:          Bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, planning, cartography, or related field
